Ten musicians, of which six are horn players, create a full rich sound, weaving together the beauty, power and force of a large ensemble in an enticing experience centred around a powerful groove.
Within this concept I have left spaces for silent moments, fine solos and structured ensemble pieces: sonic still points, a net of counterpoint sequences -- these are the pillars of my programme.
My intention as the bandleacter and composer has been to follow the impulse of the band, and to see how the musicians perceived my composition and translated them in their play.
My foremost aim with this recording is to create a live atmosphere for the listener with a programme rich in contrasts, featuring different
soloists and their virtuosity, showing a representative spectrum of contemporary jazz.

At this moment in time l want to thank you, our listeners, the organizers who supported and booked us for concerts, Migros Kulturprozent, Suisa-Fondation, Altrisuoni, SR DRS, Pro Helvetia and all the inspiring teachers/musicians who have walked and worked this road before me.
